Mission to Earth satellite launched from Vostochny Cosmodrome
Automatic station “Luna-25” successfully launched on Friday, at 2.11 Moscow time to the Moon. At 3.30 Moscow time, it successfully separated from the upper stage and reached the desired flight path.
The launch vehicle “Soyuz-2.1b” took off exactly at 2.11 minutes Moscow time. After 1 minute 59 seconds, the separation of the 1st stage passed, after 3.32 – the discharge of the nose fairing flaps, after 5 minutes at an altitude of 90 kilometers, the second stage separated from the rocket and a little later – the Fregat upper stage with the station.
At 3 hours 30 minutes Moscow time, the automatic station separated from the Frigate – it headed towards the moon on its own. According to experts, telemetry from the spacecraft arrives on Earth normally, all units are working normally, on-board systems are oriented correctly.
The flight to the Moon should be 10 days, on August 21, specialists will land the apparatus north of the Boguslavsky crater in the region of the South Pole of the Moon. The reserve craters are Manzini and Pentland A.
