The head of the President of the Russian Biathlon Union, Viktor Maigurov, spoke about the attitude of Belarusian athletes to the situation that arose during the All-Russian Spartakiad in the Chelyabinsk region.

Maigurov claims that he has not heard that there were grievances among Belarusian biathletes because they were unable to take part in the mass starts at the Winter Sports Spartakiad, which were organized on the track in Zlatoust (Chelyabinsk region).

According to him, quoted by RIA Novosti, the decision on the participation of Belarusian athletes in the all-main tournament was made shortly before the start of large-scale competitions. Due to the fact that the thirty best athletes take to the track in the mass starts, and every place taken goes into the overall standings between Russian regions, it was decided that Belarusian biathletes will take part in all races of the Spartakiad except the mass starts. As Maigurov says, Belarusian athletes took this decision calmly.
