“No warmth, no connection”: residents of Crimea shared their troubles after the hurricane

According to official data, as of Tuesday morning, 93 thousand residents of Crimea remained without electricity. People write complaints non-stop on social networks: “The house is icy, the children are small, when will it get warm?”, “It’s 11 degrees in the house, broken wires are lying around in the center of the village, they can’t find a single team of electricians in the village council,” “There’s no heat.” , no light, no water, no communication, no mood.” Natasha lives in a village with the optimistic name of Peredovoe. Since November 26, there has been no electricity or water in the village.

“We won’t have water until Krymenergo supplies electricity,” explains Natalya. – I have a generator in my house, so there is light and heat, but it’s impossible to wash and clean. People carry water from a spring, which is located about 1.5 km from the village. Old people won’t get there. Many people in the village keep cows that need to be watered. If you don’t have a car, then it’s a disaster.

Residents of Peredovoe cannot get through to Krymenergo: “It is clear that many villages were left without electricity due to the hurricane, but at the same time, emergency crews arrived in one village, fixed the problems, but did not reach the second and third by several kilometers, leaving for another direction. It is unknown when they will return now. And there is no one to ask. I would really like to know what principle is used to eliminate accidents in villages. In addition, since Sunday evening we have had no connection and no internet.”

“Just so you understand, the village is located only 20 km from Simferopol, and not somewhere in the wilderness,” continues Natalya. “But people can’t leave even for a while.” On whom will they abandon their cows, chickens, and, in the end, dogs?

The second interlocutor, Ekaterina, lives in the rural settlement of Chistenkoye. There, too, people are still sitting without electricity.

– We are located 3 km from Simferopol. Our settlement includes 7 villages. More than 12,000 people live in the territory. All these settlements have been without electricity since November 26,” says Ekaterina. – There are several dacha cooperatives nearby, where people also live and there is also no electricity. We sent many requests to the Distribution Zone, tried to call the hotline, the operational headquarters, the problem has not yet been resolved.

Our houses have been disconnected from central heating since the 1990s. People are heated either by electric boilers or convectors. At the moment, three kindergartens in our village are closed, and there is no electricity there either. The temperature in the houses is plus 13. There is a dormitory where about 40 families live; their electric stoves also do not work. There is no connection, mobile Internet does not work. There is no way to call official services.

A resident of the village of Klinovka, Marina, chose to leave the village for a hotel in Simferopol: “Not a single repair crew came to us in two days. It’s impossible to be at home, the oak is terrible. We decided that life is more valuable.”

When asked why problems cannot be quickly resolved, Marina suggests: “There are not enough repair teams. The situation at Krymenergo is generally incomprehensible. Recently, it seems that the entire management team was fired for various violations, the media wrote about it. The networks are in poor condition and the load is heavy. Many people are moving to Crimea. They are building houses. Connecting. We need to build new networks and transformers and invest money in the industry. There are excellent roads in Crimea now, everyone notes this. And everyone complains about energy drinks. Especially in villages.

We had a situation: it started to rain, the power was turned off in the village. A few hours later we met a repair crew in a neighboring village. They say: we came from a neighboring area, we don’t have plans, we can’t do anything.

This is, of course, a special case. But it seems to me that there is such a mess everywhere. That’s why accidents take so long to resolve.”

Mikhail lives in the village of Levadki, which is 5 km from Simferopol. He left his complaint on social networks. And he shared his problems with us.

“We can only sit and watch illuminated Simferopol, while it’s dark here,” says the man. – In the village there is a constant problem of electricity supply. A week ago, when the first gusts of wind began, we lost power for about 18 hours. The response of emergency services is weak; all complaints are answered: we know, wait. We do not know which cities and villages have priority for electricity supply. But we remain on the last frontier; people come to us on a residual basis. Although we are surrounded on all sides by power lines, including high-voltage ones.

In our village, water supply comes from a pumping substation. When there is a power outage, the pump does not work and there is no water. Only on Tuesday the village council promised that they would bring a water truck and begin distributing drinking water.

I am a disabled person of the second group, my wife is also disabled, but I took care of myself and bought a power plant. True, in three days I spent more than 3 thousand rubles on gasoline for her. There are many families living nearby who cannot afford the power plant and its refueling. It’s hard to say how they survive. In my opinion, we need to do a rolling blackout, this would make our fate easier. But this is inconvenient for city residents. And we understand that people in the big city are more afraid of scandals than villagers.

It’s difficult to get through to repairmen. And if at first they reassured us, saying that we’ll fix it soon, today everyone is silent and doesn’t make promises. Which is alarming.”

According to the latest data, by the evening of November 28, they promise to completely restore electricity in Crimea. In the meantime, residents of the peninsula continue to write complaints on social networks.
