Former resident of the Comedy Club project Alexander Nezlobin, who now lives and works in the United States, said that it is more difficult for comedians to earn money there than in Russia. About this he informed in the “Authority of Thought” podcast.
“In Moscow, a comedian can quickly reach a salary … thousands of dollars a month, quite easily and quickly … even up to three, from three to five, people also reach,” Nezlobin said.
Then, according to him, “slippage” begins.
And in America, he said, “no one needs you, who will pay you.”
Several comedians Nezlobin knows, who earn money in the USA only at the expense of humor, live in poverty. The rest are forced to work in other areas.
Nezlobin also noted that with a high income in the United States, a humorist must pay the appropriate taxes.
“It’s pretty hard to make a comedy here,” he summed up. “But if you succeed, then there is no limit.”
