Nizhny Novgorod “Start” became the first opponent of “Vodnik” at the Russian Championship

The 32nd Russian Bandy Championship among Super League teams starts on November 6. This was reported by the press service of the Arkhangelsk Vodnik.

For more than ten years, the number of competition participants has remained unchanged – 14 clubs. Compared to last season, the composition of Vodnik’s opponents has undergone virtually no changes. Instead of the Ufa Kirovets, which left the elite division, its place was taken by the Abakan Sayans, who returned to the Super League ten years later.

At the first stage the competition will be held in two rounds. Each team will play one game on its own field and on the opponent’s field. Based on its results, the eight strongest teams receive a ticket to the playoff series. The ¼ and ½ final stages will be played up to two victories. The final and 3rd place match will consist of one match.

The “Yellow-Greens” will start the tournament away from home – in Nizhny Novgorod, where on November 6 they will meet the local “Start”. Vodnik will play its first home match on November 19, when it will host Irkutsk Baikal-Energia.

It is worth noting that out of 13 home matches, six will take place on weekends. Let us remind you that in the last Russian Championship “Vodnik” became its bronze medalist.
