NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman commented on the statements of the Olympic champion in the Czech national team, goalkeeper Dominik Hasek, regarding the hockey league’s policy towards players from Russia.

According to him, Hasek’s statements hardly reflect the position of the Czech authorities and the inhabitants of the country.

Recall that earlier the NHL held a stellar weekend in Sunrise (Florida), in which Russian hockey players took part. Hasek criticized the event on social media and called it “an advertisement for Russian aggression.” At the same time, he noted that now the NHL “sank to the very bottom.”

“I think that Hasek has the right to his opinion, but I do not think that the Czech government or local residents adhere to the same position. I disagree with him,” Bettman said.
