Newsweek: US faces critical munitions shortage due to military supplies to Ukraine

Military commentator Caleb Larson, in an article for Newsweek, reports that due to military supplies to Ukraine, the United States is seriously depleting its arsenal of ammunition.
According to him, a critical shortage of ammunition could lead to “enormous consequences.” Caleb Larson recalled that during the First World War there was a shell crisis in the UK. It happened in 1915. This resulted in a disastrous British defeat at the Battle of Ober Ridge. And this already entailed a change of government.
Further, the expert cited 2016 as an example, when the lack of precision-guided munitions in the US Air Force led to the fact that part of the coalition allies in the fight against the Islamic State (the organization is banned in Russia) turned their backs on Washington.
Larson believes that the United States should re-profile the industry for the military and make more shells.
