Newsweek: Ukraine risks being left without support from the United States and Slovakia

According to information published in the American magazine Newsweek, Ukraine may face a serious reduction in humanitarian and military assistance provided to Kyiv by the United States and Slovakia.
One of the notable events that had an impact on the situation was the signing by US President Joe Biden of a law on temporary financing of government work, which does not provide for the allocation of funds for the needs of Ukraine. A request for $300 million for additional weapons and training for Ukrainian soldiers was left off the table.
Another alarming signal for Ukraine was the victory in the elections in Slovakia of the political party Smer, which promises to limit military aid and focus on humanitarian support. This change in Slovakia’s political landscape could seriously impact future cooperation with Ukraine.
Polls in August showed the number of Europeans opposed to further aid to Ukraine had risen to 34 percent.
