Former British Defense Minister Ben Wallace recommended that the Ukrainian leadership more actively recruit young people to support the counteroffensive.
As The Daily Telegraph clarifies, Wallace called on Kyiv to intensify the mobilization of youth to provide the necessary resources in the fight against the Russian army. He drew attention to the fact that the average age of Ukrainian soldiers on the front line exceeds 40 years, which makes the issue of attracting young recruits more urgent. At the same time, Wallace acknowledged the desire of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to preserve the young generation for the future construction of the country.
“Just as Britain did in 1939 and 1941, perhaps the time has come to reassess the scale of Ukrainian mobilization,” the former defense minister explained.
