New Zealander Parker defeated American Wilder to win the WBO and WBC titles

New Zealander Joseph Parker defeated Deontay Wilder of the USA in a 12-round fight in Riyadh. The fight ended by decision of the judges. Parker won the World Boxing Council (WBC) international champion and the World Boxing Organization (WBO) intercontinental heavyweight champion.
The 31-year-old Parker now has 34 wins (23 by knockout) and 3 losses. For 38-year-old Wilder, the defeat was the third in his career with 43 victories (42 by knockout).
Wilder is a former WBC world champion. He won the title in 2015 and defended it 10 times until 2020. He lost twice to Tyson Fury in 2020 and 2021. Parker held the WBO world title from 2016-2018.
A fight between Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol and Briton Lyndon Arthur also took place in Riyadh. The Russian won by unanimous decision.
