New York authorities are imposing a curfew on Tuesday at four migrant detention centers in response to complaints from local residents about begging. Now visitors are required to stay in overnight shelters from 23:00 to 6:00.

According to The New York Post, for now the curfew will be in effect only at four temporary shelter centers: two in Queens, one in Brooklyn and one in Manhattan. Daily registration of migrants at shelters, confirming their stay from 23:00 to 6:00, will become mandatory.

Exceptions will be provided only in case of urgent work or study of the visitor. Also, permission to violate the curfew can be obtained by visiting medical institutions and legalization authorities. However, migrants will be required to notify the residence center of their plans in advance and submit appropriate applications.
