Streets in the new microdistricts will be named after sister cities – Chinese Beijing, Manchuria, Hailar, as well as Mongolian Choibalsan. The corresponding instruction was given by the head of Chita, Evgeny Yarilov.

“Pages of common history are connected with these cities of Chita – in particular, in Chita there were combat control centers during the defeat of Japanese troops by Soviet-Mongolian soldiers on the Khalkhin Gol River in 1939, as well as the Manchurian offensive operation in 1945 to liberate Northern China from the Japanese militarists,” notes in the message thoughts of Chita.

It is also clarified that currently there are streets named after Chita in Ulan-Ude and Choibalsan.
