“New People” nominated Davankov as a candidate for the election of State Duma Vice Speaker

All 67 delegates to the congress of the New People party unanimously voted to nominate the first deputy head of the faction in the State Duma, Vice Speaker Vladislav Davankov, as a candidate for the Russian presidential election. He will be a single candidate from the “New People” and the Party of Growth – earlier at the congress a document was signed on the unification of the parties.

“Presidential elections can only be competitive with a candidate from progressive forces. Millions of people in the country want change and development, not mere stability or a rollback. Therefore, we decided to give way to the young. Our candidate for President of Russia is Vladislav Davankov. He successfully carried out our campaign for the State Duma elections in 2021, performed brilliantly in the elections for the mayor of Moscow and will now become the voice of change for the whole country,” said the head of the party, Alexey Nechaev, his words are quoted in the release.

Sardana Avksentieva will head the public headquarters of Vladislav Davankov in the elections. The candidate’s program will be based on “expanding civil and business freedoms, combating new bans and restrictions.” Vladislav Davankov dedicated his speech at the party congress to the need for “freedom and independence of Russia.”

Vladislav Davankov graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of History of Moscow State University. M. V. Lomonosov, Russian State Social University, as well as the Moscow School of Management “Skolkovo”. He was the vice-president of Alexey Nechaev’s Faberlic company, he was the deputy general director of the ANO “Russia – Land of Opportunities”, and since 2021 – the deputy chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.

For the first time, voting in the presidential election will take place not one, but three days, from March 15 to 17, 2024. The LPDR faction chose 55-year-old party leader Leonid Slutsky as a candidate, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation – State Duma deputy, 75-year-old Nikolai Kharitonov, and the Civil Initiative – 60-year-old Moscow region deputy Boris Nadezhdin.
