New oil field discovered in Turkey

A new oil field has been discovered in eastern Turkey, with a production capacity estimated at 100 bbl/d. informed President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in his Telegram channel.

“We have discovered new 100,000 bpd oil reserves in the Judy and Gabar areas,” he wrote.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the new solar power plant and the Bozkir Dam, the Turkish President declaredthat Turkey will no longer need energy in the future, but will become its exporter. The field is located at a depth of 2.6 km, he added.

Earlier in December 2022 Erdogan informed about the discovery of an oil field with reserves of about 150 million barrels of oil worth $ 12 billion. Erdogan then noted that earlier in Turkey the Cukurova field was discovered with reserves of 8 million barrels.
