In March 2022, FIDE allowed athletes from Russia and Belarus to compete in individual tournaments only under a neutral flag. After that, on April 14, 2022, the Supervisory Board of the Russian Chess Federation (RCF) unanimously decided to move to the Asian Chess Federation. And he successfully accomplished what he set out to do. Becoming the first national sports federation to officially change its registration.
On February 28, 2023, in Abu Dhabi, as part of the Asian Chess Summit, the Continental Assembly of the Asian Chess Federation was held, at which the issue of the entry of the Russian Chess Federation into the ACF was decided. 29 delegates out of 36 voted for the adoption of the FSR. The transition will take place on May 1, 2023. The ACF includes chess federations from 54 countries. Among them are the strongest chess powers in the world, such as China, India, Uzbekistan and others.
