Neuralink Mask company announced recruitment of people for clinical trial

Neurotechnology company Neuralink, founded by American entrepreneur Elon Musk, has begun accepting applications for volunteers to participate in clinical trials of brain implants that allow control of prosthetics and other functions.
The company announced on its social media page X (formerly Twitter): “We are pleased to announce that our first human clinical trial is now open for enrollment!”
Neuralink’s website states that the program may be of interest to people with quadriplegia due to cervical spine injury or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
The innovative startup Neuralink was founded by Musk in July 2016 and is developing chips that will be implanted into the human brain in the future. The entrepreneur believes that such neural interfaces will help humanity become cyborgs capable of resisting artificial intelligence, and will also teach people to control a computer directly with the power of thought. On May 25, 2023, the company announced that it had received approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the US Department of Health to conduct clinical trials on humans.
