Neural networks let employees talk – Kommersant FM

Artificial intelligence reduces employee creativity and efficiency. This is the conclusion that Boston Consulting Group specialists came to in their study. As an experiment, the company’s consultants were asked to complete a creative task with or without neural networks. Employees who used chatbots more often performed worse than others.

Kommersant FM asked top managers of Russian companies how the introduction of artificial intelligence into work affects their employees:

Boris Churadze, chief physician of the K+31 clinic network: “We often encounter the fact that young specialists, being overly enthusiastic about high-tech diagnostic methods, often forget about traditional clinical data – talking with the patient, taking an anamnesis. It is important to remember: the doctor and the medical institution bear full responsibility for the quality of work. And artificial intelligence is an auxiliary tool that allows the doctor, using the data obtained in the program, to give his conclusion.”

Alexey Lokontsev, founder of the Colizeum e-sports arena network: “Creativity does not suffer, but, on the contrary, becomes stronger, because the request in ChatGPT must be done correctly for the bot to understand it. The most important thing is that it still will not give the final result. Now we are satisfied with the design tasks we assign to the neural network, and ChatGPT saves a lot of time.”

Alexander Onikienko, director of the digital department of NF Group: “Top professionals don’t need this chatbot. They seem to perform worse if they start relying on this tool to help them do their job. I notice a trend that the more experienced a specialist, the less he needs to use a chatbot, because he himself will do the work faster, and often with better quality.”

To successfully use chatbots, according to Boston Consulting Group researchers, they need to be integrated into the overall work system and tasks must be specified in detail. Alexander Serbul, an expert on neural networks at the Bitrix24 service, believes that the active use of artificial intelligence will require company managers to increasingly control the work of their subordinates:

“Generative neural networks like ChatGPT have poor fact-checking. This worries me because the brain relaxes even more when using chatbots. The same thing happened when social networks appeared. Therefore, the situation will escalate, and we will be surrounded by this soulless content. And people will start to become even more and more lazy. To combat this, it is necessary to train people, promote creativity, that is, not relax under the influence of neural networks.”

In Russia, artificial intelligence is already used by more than half of large organizations, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said at the beginning of the year. According to the autonomous non-profit organization Digital Economy, this trend in business will continue and by 2030 the contribution of artificial intelligence to GDP will be 2%.
