Netanyahu called strikes on Gaza just the beginning of Israel’s response

The Israel Defense Forces’ strikes on Hamas targets are only the beginning of a response to the attack by the radical Palestinian organization Hamas. Prime Minister of the Jewish State Benjamin Netanyahu stated this in an address to the nation.
“We are responding to our enemies with enormous, unprecedented force. I emphasize: this is just the beginning. Our enemies have just begun to pay the price, and I will not go into details of what will happen next,” the prime minister said (quote according to TASS).
The head of the Israeli government noted that the country is trying to “enlist significant international support.” To do this, Netanyahu is holding telephone conversations with US President Joe Biden and other world leaders. The prime minister also met with Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin to “ensure the continuation of the war” and the supply of more weapons and ammunition to Israel.
Netanyahu added that he was confident of Israel’s victory over Hamas. He noted that “destroying” the radical organization will take time, but will make the Jewish state “stronger than ever.”
Hamas announced the start of a military operation against Israel on October 7. After the attack began, Tel Aviv announced a retaliatory military operation against the Palestinian organization. The Israeli government emphasized that the country had entered a state of war.
In a show of solidarity with the Palestinians, the Iranian-backed Hezbollah on the morning of October 8 fired at three Israeli posts in the area of the so-called Shebaa farm in the northeast of the country, a disputed territory captured by Israel from Syria in 1967. Israel carried out retaliatory airstrikes against the positions of Lebanese militants. On October 9, the Lebanese Foreign Ministry said that Hezbollah had promised not to conduct military operations against Israel unless it began to “persecute” Lebanon.
