Netanyahu admitted the possibility of supplying Ukraine with the Iron Dome missile defense system

Israel is considering transferring the Iron Dome missile defense system to Ukraine, transmits TV channel CNN with reference to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“I’m definitely considering it,” he replied to a related question. According to the prime minister, the United States has already sent Ukraine most of the ammunition that was previously in Israel.

In October 2022, he stated that any Israeli weapons supplied to Ukraine could end up in the hands of Iran. In the Golan Heights, where Israel is trying to prevent Iran from creating a second Lebanese front, the military is confronted with Israeli-made weapons, he said. Netanyahu also added that, in his opinion, the biggest danger of the Ukrainian crisis is that it could escalate into a “global conflict”, including the possible use of nuclear weapons.

Netanyahu has previously declared his readiness to consider the role of a mediator in the Ukrainian crisis – only if Kyiv, Moscow and Washington ask for it. “If I am asked by all the parties concerned, I will certainly consider it, but I am not imposing,” Netanyahu said.

At the beginning of the special operation in Ukraine, the Prime Minister received an offer to act as an intermediary. According to Netanyahu, he was asked to do so in the early stages of the conflict, at which time he “was the leader of the opposition.” Who turned to him with such a request, he did not say, only specifying that the request was “unofficial”.

The Russian authorities have repeatedly criticized the supply of Western weapons to Kyiv. Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov also said that the supply of weapons to Ukraine would not prevent Russia from achieving the goals of the special operation.
