Western assistance to Ukraine in aiming weapons at targets in Russia will have legal consequences, said Vasily Nebenzya, Russia’s permanent representative to the UN.
The diplomat spoke at a meeting of the UN Security Council.
He said that Moscow is confident that the US military is directly involved in the operation of HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems in Ukraine. In addition, HIMARS missiles are aimed at targets using coordinates received from US military satellites.
“They coordinate satellite and intelligence information, download accurate coordinates, software and control the effectiveness of the use of installations,” Nebenzia said.
He also noted that there was intelligence that the Russian strategic airfields Dyagilevo and Engels had been attacked using GPS data. Previously, these airfields were attacked with the help of modernized Soviet Tu-141 Strizh drones.
According to Nebenzi, in Russia such actions of Western countries are recorded, and all of them “will have specific legal consequences for all those involved.”
