47% of Russians consider it unlikely, but possible, to lose their jobs in the next month, while 100% confidence in the safety of the workplace is expressed by 45% of respondents. Such data research cited the executive director of the NAFI analytical center Lyudmila Spiridonova at the HR forum “Talentist”organized with the support of Kommersant Publishing House. In addition, according to NAFI, 6% of Russians believe that they could potentially lose their jobs in the near future and “most likely, this will happen.” Employed Russians over 60 are most afraid of losing their jobs.
The study was conducted by the survey method in March 2023, it was attended by 1.8 thousand respondents over 18 years old.
“We have been monitoring the level of anxiety throughout 2022. 43% of Russians are now confident that they will not lose their jobs in the near future, but there are 47% who say that this is unlikely, but possible. In addition, one in three believes that it will be difficult for them to find a job with comparable pay conditions. People understand that widespread digitalization is taking place in our country, but many lack competence. They understand that if they go looking for a job, they will not be hired,” says Lyudmila Spiridonova, executive director of NAFI.
According to Rosstat, the official unemployment rate in Russia in February amounted to 3.5%, once again updating a historical low. If in January the total number of unemployed was 2.734 million people, then in February it was already 2.635 million people. At the same time, as Rosstat notes with reference to Rostrud data, by the end of February, 0.7 million unemployed citizens were registered with the employment service, of which 0.6 million people had the status of unemployed, including 0.4 million people received unemployment benefits.
