Different groups of Russians have different ideas about what determines the attractiveness of the workplace, follows from the result of a joint study of the Russia – Land of Opportunity platform and the ANCOR staffing group. While financial stability is the main criterion for older people, broad career opportunities, flexible working conditions and training opportunities are much more important for young people.

IN top 5 key factors when choosing an employer for Russians included:

  1. good salary (81%),
  2. financial stability (75%),
  3. long-term employment guarantees (65%),
  4. opportunity to work in a pleasant atmosphere (60%),
  5. the opportunity to receive interesting work tasks (55%).

Such data are contained in a new joint study “Talentist” of the platform “Russia – a country of opportunities” and the ANCOR staffing group, which was presented today at the HR forum of the same name.

More than 20,000 Russians took part in the study, most (80%) of them are employed in the commercial sector of the economy.

As the authors of the study note, different groups of Russians have different priorities when choosing an employer – for example, for people older age (from 45 years old) the main criterion is financial stability, while for people middle aged (25–44 years old) maintaining a balance between work and personal life is a priority, and for youth (14–24 years old) much more important are wide career opportunities, flexible working conditions and training opportunities.

The reasons for changing jobs also depend on gender and age: women are more likely to change jobs because it is not satisfying, and due to excessive workload, young people (18-24 years old) more often than other age groups moved to another job due to inappropriate schedule, uninteresting tasks and poor relationship with the manager, and people with higher education because the company left the Russian market.

Thus, Alexei Komissarov, Director General of ANO “Russia – Land of Opportunity”, notes that in order to become an “ideal” employer, companies need to listen to the needs of potential employees, taking into account the characteristics of generations, the preferences and concerns of people from different social groups. Also, according to him, according to the results of the study, a rating of the most attractive employers in Russia was formed.

“The rating includes all employers who scored 10% or more in recognition, and the answer to the question about the desire to work for the company determined its attractiveness as an employer and its final place in the rating,” Mr. Komissarov emphasized.

The maximum number of companies that respondents called the most attractive for work is concentrated in the fuel and energy complex, the second place is taken by mining and processing, and the third is mechanical engineering. Detailed rating results will be published today during the day.
