Nearly 250 illegal migrants free riders caught on Moscow transport

Since the beginning of the year, almost 250 illegal migrants have been caught on Moscow’s land transport routes, RIA Novosti reports, citing the Moscow Department of Transport.
Measures to identify migrants are reportedly being carried out by traffic controllers and the police. Particular attention is paid to areas where there are often free riders.
“Since the beginning of the year, 245 people with violations of migration laws have been among the passengers who did not pay for the fare,” the report says. The agency reports that some of the detained free-rider migrants have already been expelled from the country.
It is noted that the controllers not only check the fare, but also monitor the safety in transport.
