NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg expressed concern about the consequences of the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station
Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said he was concerned about the consequences of the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station as a result of shelling for the civilian population and the environment. He wrote about this on his Twitter account.
“The destruction of the dam in Kakhovka today puts the lives of thousands of civilians at risk, causing serious damage to the environment,” he said in a statement.
According to him, such an incident shows the “cruelty” of the conflict on the territory of Ukraine.
The hydroelectric power plant was destroyed as a result of shelling on the night of June 6. The authorities assume that the attack on the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station was delivered from the MLRS “Alder”. In turn, the Ukrainian side accuses the Russian side of “undermining” the station.
