NATO members did not reach agreement on providing Kyiv with a timetable for joining the alliance
NATO countries have not reached an agreement on Ukraine’s entry into the bloc, the ANSA news agency reported on Saturday.
According to him, a number of alliance countries are calling on other members to offer Ukraine a timetable for joining at the NATO summit in Vilnius.
Earlier, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Derek Hogan said that Washington hopes for progress in NATO support for Kyiv following the meeting of foreign ministers in Oslo.
Prior to this, representatives of Ukraine and NATO held a meeting of the working group on scientific and environmental cooperation in Brussels, which launched a dialogue on innovation “high-level”. NATO, as part of this dialogue, promises to provide Kyiv with its experts.
The Euractiv portal wrote that the North Atlantic Alliance is exploring ways to put Ukraine on the path to membership in the bloc, but is not considering the option of its accelerated entry into its ranks.
