Winter may be the main problem for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, while the Russian Armed Forces have already prepared for cold weather, writes columnist for the American magazine National Interest Marina Miron.
Firstly, she noted, the drones used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine are more difficult to use in difficult weather conditions – cold, wind and snow. Difficulties will also arise with attacks on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine. “A lack of electricity can undermine everything from communications to the functioning of field hospitals,” the columnist writes.
Miron notes that the Russian Armed Forces are much more ready to fight in winter. She also recalled that the Russian army has experience in exercises in Arctic conditions. Therefore, she believes, winter cold will not become a problem for the offensive of Russian troops.
