For the first time, large-scale competitions of the North-Western District of the Russian Guard are being held in the regional center. The opening of the starts took place on January 31 at the ski stadium named after V.S. Cousin in the village of Malye Karely. This was reported by the Ministry of Sports of the Arkhangelsk region.
It should be noted that from January 30 to February 3, personal and team competitions of the district are held in the Arkhangelsk region. The Russian Guardsmen bring out the best in Makarov pistol shooting, cross-country skiing and swimming. Competitions are held on the basis of a military unit, as well as in the swimming pool of the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov and at the ski stadium named after V.S. Cousin.
21 national teams from the territorial bodies and military units of the National Guard of the North-West claim to win the championships. In total – 140 participants, including 22 representatives of the fair sex.
After the official opening ceremony, cross-country skiing took place immediately at a distance of 10 kilometers for men and five kilometers for women. The winners were a serviceman of the Russian Guard from the Republic of Komi and an employee of the department for the Novgorod region.
