Soviet and Russian screenwriter, professor at VGIK Natalia Ryazantseva has died at the age of 85. This was announced in social networks by her colleague Elizaveta Simbirskaya.
“She is a beloved master, an interesting conversationalist, an intriguing, intelligent woman who does not lose interest in anything or anyone,” Simbirskaya wrote.
The screenwriter was born in Moscow. She graduated from the screenwriting department of VGIK. Since 1977 he has been teaching “The Mastery of Screenwriting”, since 1987 he has been the head of the workshop at the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors. In 1987, Ryazantseva was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR.
Since 1996, she has been leading a screenwriting workshop at VGIK.
Natalya Ryazantseva made her debut as a screenwriter in 1966 in the film Wings by Larisa Shepitko. A few years later, she took part in the creation of Kira Muratova’s film “Long Farewell”. There are about twenty paintings in her filmography.
The cause of death is not named.
