NASA has once again delayed astronauts’ launch into space due to a leak in the Science module.

The astronauts’ spacewalk from the International Space Station (ISS), postponed in early October due to a coolant leak in the Nauka module’s radiator backup circuit, has been postponed again. A new exit is planned for the end of the year, the press service of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration reported (NASA).
Release date already transferred from October 12 and 20 to October 19 and 30. It was planned that American astronaut Loral O’Hara and European Space Agency astronaut Andreas Mogensen would go into outer space on October 12, and O’Hara and NASA astronaut Jasmine Moghbeli on October 20.
“As a result of NASA’s ongoing analysis of a coolant leak from the backup radiator of the Nauka laboratory module, the spacewalk, which was scheduled to take place no earlier than October 19, has now been postponed until the end of this year,” the organization said in a statement on its website. NASA noted that the tasks planned for this spacewalk are not time sensitive, and the schedule adjustments do not affect space station operations.
The NASA message emphasizes that the coolant is non-toxic and not dangerous to the crew. However, experts need to check to avoid traces of the substance entering internal systems.
The date for the other spacewalk, scheduled for October 30, remains unchanged. Loral O’Hara and Jasmine Moghbeli are scheduled to replace the faulty communications unit and install hardware for the new solar panels.
About a coolant leak from the backup radiator in the Science module of the Russian segment of Roscosmos and NASA reported October 9. Roscosmos clarified that the main thermal control circuit of the module is operating normally, and nothing threatens the station crew. NASA later announced that the leak had stopped.
