NASA confirmed its readiness to work on the ISS after 2030

The United States, along with colleagues from Canada, Japan and Europe, is ready to participate in the work of the International Space Station after 2030. This was announced by NASA Deputy Administrator for Space Operations Ken Bowersox. According to SpaceNews, the official voiced Washington’s position during a speech at the Beyond Earth symposium.
According to a NASA representative, there is no strict need to decommission the ISS by 2030. As an alternative, a flexible schedule can be proposed, which involves a gradual transition to new platforms and the participation of private companies in the creation of one or more orbital stations.
At the same time, in August, the head of the ISS program at NASA, Joel Montalbano, confirmed that the United States, Japan, Canada and European countries intend to work “to the fullest” in low-Earth orbit until the end of 2030, that is, until the ISS is decommissioned.
A journalist who previously visited the plant of the American company Sierra Space reported a high degree of readiness for the assembly of the Dream Chaser reusable spacecraft. This space shuttle is designed to deliver cargo to the ISS.
