Naryshkin announced the preparation of Poland for the annexation of the western territories of Ukraine

Poland is rapidly preparing for the annexation of Western Ukrainian lands, told director of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergei Naryshkin in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“The information coming to the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service indicates that Warsaw is speeding up preparations for the annexation of Western Ukrainian lands: the territories of Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and most of the Ternopil region of Ukraine,” he said.
According to the SVR, the Polish secret services were instructed by the President of the Republic, Andrzej Duda, to prepare an official justification for claims to Western Ukraine, the Volyn massacre of 1943 became the starting point in the ongoing archival research. Warsaw is counting on holding referendums in these territories, Naryshkin added. The Polish side plans to act proactively in this matter, as it believes that NATO can reach certain agreements with Moscow, he said.

The primary goal for Poland is agriculture, the department claimed at the time. Thus, according to the SVR, Polish companies organized the purchase of Ukrainian agricultural products at reduced prices, dooming the latter to bankruptcy in some cases. Subsequently, the Poles expect to buy up their assets and land at bargain prices.
