In this discipline, chess players are given no more than an hour to make their moves in the game.
NARFU hosted the regional rapid chess championship. According to the Ministry of Sports of the Arkhangelsk Region, 62 athletes from Arkhangelsk, Severodvinsk, Novodvinsk, Velsk and Ustyansky District took part in the competition. Nine rounds were played.
The results of the tournament “A” among men:
- 1st place – Vadim Kuznetsov;
- 2nd place – Daniil Akochenok;
- 3rd place – Sergey Popov.
The results of the tournament “A” among women:
- 1st place – Daria Belova;
- 2nd place – Vera Sumarokova;
- 3rd place – Svetlana Pivovarova.
It remains to add that the competitions were held within the framework of the regional state program “Development of physical culture and sports in the Arkhangelsk region.”
