Napoli and Eintracht fans riot in the center of Naples

Earlier, the authorities of Naples banned Eintracht fans from Frankfurt am Main from coming to the match due to threats of unrest. Despite this, about 600 fans of the German club made it to the city center.
The clashes began when German fans marching through Naples reached the square in the historic center of Naples – Piazza del Gesu Nuovo – and had to board a bus that would take them back to the hotel where they were staying.
“I am in constant contact with the prefect and the commissioner. I hope that the situation can be resolved without harming the city. Today should be a great day of celebration and sport and I hope that this aggressive behavior will not affect the safety of the citizens,” said Gaetano Manfredi, mayor of Naples.
The match “Napoli” – “Eintracht” will be held at the stadium “Maradona” today at 23:00 Moscow time.
