Russians were advised not to use the words “yes” and “no” in conversations with scammers
Konstantin Shulenin, an expert on network threats at the Security Code company, named words that should not be used in a conversation with telephone scammers.
Many people immediately begin the dialogue with the word “yes” instead of “hello”. In the future, this particle can be used by scammers to voice confirmation of actions on behalf of the victim’s account. That is why, the expert insists, it is categorically impossible to answer “yes” and “no”. These words must be excluded when communicating with scammers. In such cases, you can use, for example, “I listen to you,” “I don’t have the opportunity,” or “I deny.”
Shulenin added that if the conversation immediately begins to seem suspicious, it is better to hang up immediately. There is no need to talk to scammers in order to teach them a lesson, since everything the victim says in the future can be used against him.
If they call supposedly from a bank, it is better to immediately play it safe and call back to the official number of the organization, the expert noted.
