Named the timing of the appearance of the textbook of geography with the new regions of Russia
A geography textbook with new regions of Russia may appear in the next academic year, TASS reports.
This was announced by the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov on the sidelines of the SPIEF. He noted that the new regions will not only be included in the training, but also marked on maps. According to Kravtsov, this is a rather long process, but the department will use the experience already gained.
“Tentatively, during the next academic year, we will present a new textbook on geography,” the minister said.
He also pointed out that geography is among the school disciplines that will be used from the next academic year as part of a unified federal curriculum.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science Valery Falkov, in an interview with RIA Novosti on the sidelines of SPIEF, said that the first stage of integration of higher education institutions in new regions of Russia should be completed by the end of 2023. At the same time, he stressed that in order to integrate higher education institutions from new territories, they will need to complete the revision of their educational programs in accordance with the standards adopted in Russia.
In October 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed federal constitutional laws on the admission of new territories to Russia and the formation of new constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Russia included LPR, DPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
