The average Russian will need at least 12 years to buy an apartment in Moscow. This was stated by the CEO of ACRA, ex-deputy chairman of the Central Bank Mikhail Sukhov, reports “News”.
As the expert noted, in 2020 it took nine years to buy an apartment of 60 square meters in the secondary market, and now it will take 12 years. A few years ago, a Russian citizen needed 11 years to buy a new building in the capital, now this number has grown to 15, Sukhov specified.
He also added that such dynamics is due to the development and popularization of preferential mortgages in the Russian Federation. So, despite the cheap mortgage, the cost of apartments has increased.
