Ergonomists at the University of Texas School of Public Health have found out what time of day and what day of the week office workers are least efficient.
By counting the movements and mouse clicks of employees at a large energy company in Texas, the authors of a study published in the journal PLOS One concluded that office workers worked more slowly in the afternoon, as well as on Fridays. During these periods, they made more spelling mistakes.
One way to increase the efficiency of employees could be more flexible hours, ergonomists suggest.
