Kyiv’s financial losses after the break in the grain deal will amount to $500 million monthly, according to RIA Novosti.
The conclusion was drawn on the basis of UN data, according to which Ukraine’s exports during the deal amounted to $9.8 billion, of which $7.7 billion through ports. At the same time, up to 80% of this Ukrainian grain was exported by sea, and the rest was delivered abroad by rail , vehicles and ferries.
In total, Ukraine exported 28.1 million tons of grain through the grain deal.
As part of the deal, Ukraine exports various types of agricultural products, with the main item being grain. The calculations are based on the average cost of a ton of grain.
The grain deal expires on July 17. Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that everything is going to the point that on July 18 the grain deal will be terminated, since the agreements reached are not being implemented. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the United Nations had failed to cope with the implementation of the Russian part of the agreements on the grain deal. The Kremlin also stated that there were no prerequisites for extending the grain deal.
The US State Department insists on the prolongation of the Black Sea food initiative. The department said that “Russia must comply with and extend the Black Sea Grain Initiative.” At the same time, the State Department accused Moscow of alleged violations of the terms of the deal and delays in sending grain.
