Also, during these years, verbal-logical thinking begins to form in children – an understanding of the connections between actions, events and consequences, which a preschooler does not have.
The psychologist recalled that when letting a child go for independent walks, parents should tell him about the rules of behavior on the street and repeat them regularly. This applies to the rules of the road and interaction with strangers.
If the child needs help, and there is no one around, then, as the psychologist recommends, the parent should advise the child to go to a store, pharmacy or library and ask the adults working there to help. It is important to explain to children what a police officer looks like, and that not every person in uniform is one.
Best of all, the expert believes, if the child can contact his parents at any time: by phone or smart watch.
The psychologist also recommends not letting children go further than their yard, which should preferably be visible from the window.
