Politician Boris Nadezhdin, who is running for president of Russia from the Civil Initiative party, said that at the moment he has collected about 9 thousand voter signatures out of the 100 thousand required by law. By law, candidates from non-parliamentary parties and self-nominated candidates must complete the collection of signatures up to 31 January.
“We have collected 8,954 verified signatures. But this is not enough. This is not enough! There are less than two weeks left to collect another 91,046 signatures throughout Russia,” Mr. Nadezhdin wrote in his Telegram channel. The politician noted that he continues to collect signatures at his regional headquarters.
Central Election Commission allowed Boris Nadezhdin to begin collecting voter signatures on December 28, 2023. According to the politician, he is going to the elections with “a simple and understandable slogan: Putin must go.” Mr. Nadezhdin considers the start of hostilities on the territory of Ukraine a “fatal mistake,” and the country, which has since been moving “in a rut of militarism and isolation,” needs, in his words, a “project for the future.”
Currently registered as a presidential candidate passed representatives of three parliamentary parties – Leonid Slutsky (LDPR), Vladislav Davankov (New People) and Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation).
From non-parliamentary parties, in addition to Boris Nadezhdin, Sergei Malinkovich (“Communists of Russia”), Boris Nadezhdin (“Civil Initiative”), Andrei Bogdanov (“Russian Party of Freedom and Justice”), Sergei Baburin (“Russian All-People’s Union”) were nominated for president. and Irina Sviridova (“Democratic Party of Russia”) – they need to collect 100 thousand voter signatures. Vladimir Putin, the Russian Rada and Anatoly Batashev are running as self-nominated candidates – they must collect 300 thousand signatures each.
