Nadezhda Babkina and Vladislav Lisovets: fashionable or folk

In the new season, a new show “Modny vs. People’s”. The project will be based on a long-standing confrontation between two true connoisseurs of beauty – the People’s Artist of Russia Nadezhda Babkina and the famous Russian fashion expert Vladislav Lisovets.

Nadezhda Babkina: “I have always been interested in fashion, since my youth. Be sure to bring fashionable things from foreign tours – either a bright yellow synthetic blouse, then stocking boots, or a red patent leather skirt. I came to the institute to the lessons of the folk choir, always being five seconds late. She opened the door, greeted me, and the whole choir, when they saw me, uttered an amazed: “Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh.” And when I became the host of one of the television projects dedicated to fashion, God himself ordered me to be interested in trends. More than ten years have passed since then. It can be said that she graduated from the institute twice and received a new profession. I have become more experienced, I instantly cut through everything: what will suit a corpulent woman, what will decorate a slender woman, what will be good for a curvy woman … In general, small women, tall, thin, fuller … everyone is good! You have to dress properly. For many, I have become a role model. Looking at me, the spectators think: “So we can do this too!” And they add bright colors to their wardrobe, which they didn’t dare to use before, large decorations that are generally not suitable for anyone. Therefore, of course, I consider myself an expert, and feeling this confidence in myself, I am ready for the competition. In general, everything I do, I do with passion. Do you think it is possible to lead the same ensemble for 47 years in a row without passion? Or is it possible to create a theater without excitement? Never! Therefore, I enter this new story with excitement and passion.”

The heroines of the program will be ordinary women who have decided to radically change their lives, starting with the transformation. Two new looks will be chosen by a team of “folk” stylists led by Nadezhda Babkina, and two more by professional stylists led by Vladislav Lisovets.

Vladislav Lisovets: “To be honest, I don’t feel any competitive excitement for the simple reason that all people have a completely different sense of beauty and we don’t compete with colleagues in the same style. Each of us will do and offer our heroines something different, and, probably, it is more a matter of choice, which is closer to a particular person. But there is a huge excitement to show the audience how versatile fashion is! That is what inspires me the most. I want to show the audience new combinations, bright, unusual, how bold images can be. I go to the show to enjoy my work, from the fact that I will be useful to people. I want to get started quickly.”

In each issue, 12 fashion experts will determine the winning team, including star stylists, designers, models and other famous personalities. At the end of each episode, fashion connoisseurs will have to vote for the look they like the most, but the final decision will still remain with the heroine of the program – she will have to choose which of the proposed outfits she likes the most.
