Mysterious blue creature found in the Caribbean

Scientists from the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) have discovered a strange blue creature at the bottom of the Caribbean Ocean, informs edition of the Washington Times.
As noted, the creature was found near the island of Santa Cruz at a depth of about 427 meters. Scientists believe they may have seen soft coral, tunicates, or sponges, but this species has never been described before. According to the publication, the animal is covered with tubercles, does not have limbs and can change shape, as well as burrow into the sand. The blue creature caught my eye during the NOAA expedition, which was conducted to collect various data, including the geomorphology of the seabed.
Scientists have expressed confidence that the mysterious “blue blob” is an animal, but it will be possible to determine the group to which it belongs only when they get a sample of the animal or a better image.
The Caribbean Sea, where the animal was found, has the highest level of biodiversity among all other areas of the Atlantic.
