Russia has enough drugs to treat mycoplasma infection, said the head of the Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko. He called the virus “absolutely controllable.”

According to the minister, the diagnosis, course of the disease and clinical picture are clear. “There are enough drugs, a wide range, so it is an absolutely controllable infection,” Mr. Murashko assured. He told reporters about this on the sidelines of the “Medicine and Quality” conference; his words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

On the eve of Rospotrebnadzor reportedthat isolated cases of mycoplasma infection have been recorded in Russia. The Ministry of Health said that in the autumn-winter period this infection occurs quite often, and its treatment is carried out with antibacterial drugs.

Mycoplasma infection is an infection of the upper and lower respiratory tract that can develop into pneumonia. In December, a surge in the incidence of SARS was recorded in Europe.
