American businessman and Twitter owner Elon Musk said that the WhatsApp messenger (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) cannot be trusted. He wrote about this on his Twitter page.
“WhatsApp cannot be trusted,” Musk tweeted in response to a user’s report that the WhatsApp app used the microphone multiple times while he slept.
The businessman also added that the founders of WhatsApp left Meta due to modifications to the messenger.
Musk acquired Twitter at the end of October 2022 for $44 billion. He dissolved the board of directors, took over the company and began to change the social network. In particular, the businessman called for an amnesty for blocked accounts, and also introduced paid verification on the social network.
Last October, Telegram founder Pavel Durov said that WhatsApp contains vulnerabilities that could allow attackers to gain full access to the contents of any phone it is installed on, so users should stay away from it.
