Musk commented on the request of Ukraine to provide them with more tanks

A small number of Leopard 2 tanks may be vulnerable to anti-tank weapons or mines. Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk wrote about this on Twitter.

“A small number of tanks are easily destroyed by anti-tank weapons and mines. It’s better to either have them [танков] a lot, or not to have at all,” he wrote.

Thus, Musk commented on the post of one of the Twitter users that the Ukrainian military is not sufficiently trained to use Leopard 2 tanks and that future deliveries of military equipment may be in vain. Judging by the video that was recently published on social networks, “their [танки] torn to shreds,” wrote the user. He attached material from the Ukrainian media to the post, in which the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Melnyk asks to increase the supply of Leopard 2.

The Russian Ministry of Defense regularly reports the destruction of Western-made tanks. In particular, according to the agency, June 11 was destroyed three Leopard tanks, June 10 – four, June 6 – eight.

At the end of March, the German newspaper Der Spiegel wrote that Germany put 18 of its Leopard 2 tanks. The deliveries of 18 German and three Portuguese Leopard 2 tanks by the end of March were previously announced by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius. Initially, at the end of January, Germany announced the delivery of 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Kyiv.

The Russian authorities have repeatedly criticized the supply of Western weapons to Kyiv. In particular, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, warned that pumping Ukraine with weapons brings NATO closer to the dangerous line of a direct military clash with Russia. The Kremlin said that the Leopard and Abrams tanks would burn down the same way as the rest of Western military equipment. Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, stressed that tanks will not save Ukraine.
