Users get more pleasure from listening to music in Hi-Fi quality than from tracks in mp3 format. This is stated in a study by Neurotrend, commissioned by the music audio service Sound.
The subjects were given to listen to musical compositions in the genres of pop (Daft Punk, Give Life Back to Music), rock (The Killers, Flesh And Bone) and electronic music (James Blake, The Wilhelm Scream). The playback was from three different music services, the brands were hidden. According to the results of the study, it turned out that listeners on an emotional level feel the difference in sound quality. Also tracks in Hi-Fi format cause less listening fatigue.
Audio service “Sound” launched lossless music in June 2021. At the start, there were over 35 million uncompressed tracks in the catalog, later another 70 million songs in Hi-Fi quality were added to the service.
