The Department of the Museum of the History of the Gulag “House on the Embankment” from January 23, 2023 will be closed for re-exposition. The administration of the museum has not yet specified when it will reopen to visitors.
“Opening date will be announced later,” reads the website “Houses on the Embankment”. Tickets for visiting the museum next week are available on its website.
The SOTA publication, citing employees of the cultural institution, reports that the re-exposition will last at least until the beginning of November 2023.
The museum, opened in 1989, is dedicated to the history of the building on the Bersenevskaya Embankment of the Moskva River, also known as the Government House. The house, built in 1931, at different times was inhabited by representatives of the Soviet political elite who suffered from Stalinist repressions.
