The Moscow Department of Transport advised residents of the capital to avoid traveling by car with summer tires due to rain, snow and icy conditions. This was stated in the department’s Telegram channel.

According to the Department of Transport, at night the thermometer will drop below zero, and icy conditions will form on the roads. In addition, today it will snow and rain in some Moscow areas. In connection with this, drivers were recommended on October 10 to refrain from using cars if they still have summer tires.

“Using summer tires in such conditions is dangerous and can lead to an accident. If you haven’t changed your tires yet, we advise you to use public transport for travel tomorrow…,” noted the Department of Transport.

The department also urged motorists not to violate the speed limit, maintain distance, not make sudden maneuvers and not be distracted by gadgets. They reminded that the winter braking distance is much longer than the summer one.
