A Muscovite managed to get compensation for the New Year spoiled by the travel company through the court. The woman bought a 4-day tour to Karelia, but the holiday program was radically different from that prescribed in the contract.

As MK found out, in October last year, Alla (name changed) bought a trip to Karelia from a travel agency for 30,000 rubles. This cost included excursion services under the program “New Year at the camp site Engozero” from December 31 to January 3.

Among other things, the organizers promised a trip across the winter lake on snowmobiles and the installation of vents – under-ice gear for catching predatory fish. It was indicated that the group would be accompanied by a huntsman who would definitely teach everyone how to fish. Then the clients were to expect a picnic on the ice with hot mulled wine, and after that – “a real Russian banya with a tasting of the famous Karelian balsam.”

According to Alla, the snowmobiles were issued to the group in poor condition: when riding, they smelled of burning, and it seemed that the engine would catch fire. The installation of under-ice gear turned out to be a fiction. According to the tourist, the organizer handed her a fishing rod even without bait, dug a small hole in the ice and said: “Udi!”

As a treat at the picnic, there was boiled sausage, cut … with a spoon, since the organizer forgot to take a knife with her. The Russian bath was located in a barely warm room with a vat of water and a ladle. There was no samovar, no Karelian balsam.

New Year’s Eve also disappointed the client: instead of the promised laid table, the tourists had to cut salads themselves. The hall with a fireplace, promised by the organizers, turned out to be occupied by other guests. Therefore, Alla and her neighbors celebrated the New Year in the kitchen among pots and plates.

In addition, the plaintiff accused the travel agency that her room was not heated, and the house for living was dirty and was not cleaned by anyone. The travel company did not respond to the comments of tourists.

Returning from vacation, a disappointed client sued the company and demanded to terminate the contract and reimburse the expenses. However, she did not produce photo or video evidence to support the inconsistencies. Therefore, Themis refused to terminate the contract.

But in terms of monetary compensation, the court took the side of Alla. The fact is that the woman sent a pre-trial claim to a travel agency with a request to reimburse the cost of the trip. In response, the company sent a letter of apology for the failed program. The judge of the 358th section of the World Court of the Zapadnoye Degunino district considered this to be an admission of the fact of a poor-quality service and, within the framework of the Consumer Rights Protection Law, ordered the travel agency to pay the client a total of 12,651 rubles.
