Murmansk resident became world chess champion

The World Chess Championship ended in Samarkand on December 30. There were two disciplines: “blitz” and “rapid”, reported the Ministry of Sports of the Murmansk region.
The best chess players from all over the world came to the competition. In the blitz discipline, Murmansk resident Valentina Gunina won.
“Valentina Gunina made a wonderful New Year’s gift to all Russian chess fans and, of course, to herself, by winning the title of world blitz champion,” commented Andrei Filatov, President of the Russian Chess Federation.
The winner was congratulated on her victory and wished further success.
It should be noted that the model of the psychological service of the Kola Arctic region was included in the top ten in the country. Previously “MK in Murmansk” wrotethat the competition brought together over 30 constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
